Reducing Maternal and Child Mortality in Nigeria

With its mission to improve the quality of life for Nigerians by supporting initiatives that enhance access to healthcare, Sylvermagret Foundation is working with partners to improve Nigerians’ quality of life by enhancing healthcare access. The foundation is addressing negative trends in maternal and child health, with under-five mortality rates at 132 per 1000 and infant mortality rates at 67 per 1000 and the maternal mortality ratio of 512 deaths per 100,000 live births, indicates a need for investment in promoting maternal and child health in Nigeria.

The foundation is working to reduce maternal and child mortality by supporting evidence-based, innovative, and sustainable interventions. The program aims to ensure healthy pregnancy and childbirth, enabling children to reach their full potential. It also supports quality and affordable healthcare services, particularly in rural areas and strengthen the health system by increasing access to skilled health providers.

1. Rural health education on Antenatal uptake
2. Under 5 deworming exercises
3. Baby shower to 100/100 mothers on Antenatal visit
4. Capacity building of Community heath workers
